We live in Elbert, CO  USA!! Some call it God's country. We wouldn't go quite that far, but it is a pretty good place to live and raise a family. That is, if you like places that have more deer/elk/coyotes than people. Being "infested" with coyotes, we have no small dog/stray cat problems in our area. More info on the local area can be viewed here:   http://www.elbertco.com/Elbertco/index.htm

All are welcome to come visit except: gun-haters, flag burners, and your everday garden variety socialist/liberal.  (ok, just kiddin' about the libs, but NOT the others).

The mule deer hunting in this neck of the woods is pretty decent.

The magnificent seven.

This picture wasn't taken in our area although there are several bucks nearly in this class and all live within 2 miles of our place.

In June of 2002 the "Haymen" fire broke out about 20 miles west of our house, in the Pike National Forest. It grew to be the largest wildfire in Colorado history. At the peak of the blaze smoke rose in plumes to 24,000+ feet. Here, a lone helo attempts to drop a bucket of water on the fire. A noble, but fruitless, task.
